MEET THE MAKER

 

Hello, I'm Hannah, the hands and face behind Blue Birch Design Co; which I unintentionally started when I turned to woodworking as a form of therapy to cope with some anxiety following a traumatic miscarriage and the loss of my grandmother... on the same day.

The name stems from a place that I love and is where I am blessed to be able to have the space to free my mind and create. My home. My house is blue, and my favourite tree in the front yard is a birch.  Blue Birch Design Co has turned into a passion for creating beautiful and meaningful items for others to spread joy and celebrate life's events and I love nothing more than hearing the stories behind the items I am lucky enough to create.  Each piece is created with love and a fine attention to detail; and If I'm not happy with it, it doesn't leave my shop until I am. People have asked me what kind of sign is my favourite to make, and to be honest, they're all challenging and meaningful to me in their own little way. I have learned a lot over the last few years, and I intend to keep learning and expanding my skills (and my tool collection).
